This prestigious recognition marks another milestone for Hatari, reflecting the brand’s evolution from a trusted appliance manufacturer to a design-led brand that places emotional connection at the heart of everyday living.
The European Product Design Award celebrates excellence in global product and experiential design. Being selected among the best programs of Bangkok Design Week highlights Hatari’s strong creative vision and the team’s dedication to transforming meaningful consumer insights into a powerful immersive experience.
Ms. Peevara Choonhawongse
“We are deeply honored to receive this recognition from such a respected international design institution,” said Peevara Choonhawongse, Head of Brand and Marketing of Hatari Electric Co., Ltd. “This award reflects the passion and commitment of everyone involved in bringing a culturally relevant insight to life. ‘Love Is in the Air’ began with a simple question — how can an everyday object create emotional meaning in people’s lives? This achievement reinforces our belief that great design must connect not only through function, but through feeling.”
Developed from a uniquely Thai linguistic insight — the dual meaning of the word “fan” as both a loved one and an electric fan — the exhibition invites visitors to explore how everyday objects can become emotional companions across life’s many moments. Through four immersive chapters — First Love, Love at First Sight, Passionate Love, and True Love — Hatari and Habits Design Studio created a multi-sensory journey using wind, light, scent, sound, and movement to translate emotional states into spatial experiences.
Ms. Tassaluck Panichtrakul
“At Hatari, research and development go beyond improving functionality — we focus on understanding how products can better support people’s lives both physically and emotionally,” said Tassaluck Panichtrakul, Assistant Managing Director, Research and Development of Hatari Electric Co., Ltd. “‘Love Is in the Air’ reflects our commitment to human-centered design, where innovation is guided by real insights to create experiences that are meaningful, relevant, and sustainable for the future.”
Receiving this international recognition during Hatari’s 35th anniversary year further reinforces the brand’s strategic direction: redefining design as a balance between performance, emotional relevance, and long-term sustainability. The exhibition also highlights Hatari’s commitment to responsible design through concepts such as fan recycling and material repurposing — extending product lifecycles while caring for both people and the planet. “True brand growth is not only about longevity,” Peevara added. “It is about remaining meaningful to people across generations — and design is one of the most powerful ways we can achieve that.”
