บริษัท การบินไทย จำกัด (มหาชน) เดินหน้าเสริมฝูงบินด้วยอากาศยานแบบโบอิ้ง 787-9 (Boeing 787-9) เพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการดำเนินงาน รองรับการขยายตัวของตลาดการเดินทาง และเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการให้บริการผู้โดยสาร โดยมีกำหนดการรับมอบในวันที่ 22 มิถุนายน 2569 และมีแผนนำเข้าประจำการจำนวน 4 ลำภายในปี 2569
นายชาย เอี่ยมศิริ ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร บริษัทฯ กล่าวว่า “การนำเครื่องบินแบบโบอิ้ง 787-9 เข้ามาเสริมฝูงบิน ถือเป็นอีกก้าวสำคัญของการบินไทยในการพัฒนาฝูงบินให้มีความทันสมัย มีประสิทธิภาพ สอดคล้องกับความต้องการของตลาด ทิศทางการเติบโต และเป็นไปตามแผนบริหารจัดการฝูงบินของบริษัทฯ โดยการเพิ่มเครื่องบินรุ่นเดียวกันจะทำให้ฝูงบินเป็นมาตรฐานเดียวกัน (Fleet Commonality) และเพิ่มความคล่องตัวในการบริหารจัดการ และรองรับการให้บริการในเส้นทางบินที่มีศักยภาพ พร้อมสนับสนุนโอกาสการเติบโตของบริษัทฯ ในอุตสาหกรรมการบิน และมอบประสบการณ์การเดินทางที่สะดวกสบายแก่ผู้โดยสารทั่วโลก”
อากาศยานแบบโบอิ้ง 787-9 เป็นเครื่องบินลำตัวกว้าง รองรับการบินระยะไกล และมีเทคโนโลยีทันสมัย สามารถลดการใช้เชื้อเพลิงได้สูงสุดประมาณ 20% เมื่อเทียบกับอากาศยานรุ่นก่อนหน้า สอดคล้องกับแนวทางการพัฒนาฝูงบินอย่างยั่งยืนของการบินไทย
ภายในห้องโดยสาร อากาศยานแบบโบอิ้ง 787-9 ของการบินไทย มาพร้อมห้องโดยสาร 2 ชั้นที่นั่ง ประกอบด้วยที่นั่งชั้นธุรกิจ (Royal Silk Class) จำนวน 30 ที่นั่ง แบบปรับเอนนอนราบ ในรูปแบบ 1-2-1 และชั้นประหยัด (Economy Class) จำนวน 268 ที่นั่ง จัดวางแบบ 3-3-3 พร้อมมุมปรับเอน 120 องศา โดยผลิตภัณฑ์ภายในห้องโดยสารได้รับการออกแบบให้สอดคล้องกับฝูงบินโบอิ้ง 787-9 ในปัจจุบัน พร้อมปรับปรุงให้ทันสมัยยิ่งขึ้น อาทิ ระบบความบันเทิงบนเครื่องบิน ที่มาพร้อมจอขนาด 17.3 นิ้ว ในชั้นธุรกิจ และ 13.3 นิ้ว ในชั้นประหยัด รวมถึงระบบเชื่อมต่ออินเทอร์เน็ตบนเครื่องบิน เพื่อมอบความสะดวกสบายตลอดการเดินทาง
การรับมอบอากาศยานแบบโบอิ้ง 787-9 ในครั้งนี้ สะท้อนความมุ่งมั่นของการบินไทย ในการเสริมศักยภาพการให้บริการ และเชื่อมโยงประเทศไทยสู่จุดหมายปลายทางทั่วโลก

THAI Strengthens Fleet with Boeing 787-9 to Enhance Operational Efficiency and Passenger Experience
Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) announced the addition of Boeing 787-9 aircraft to its fleet as part of the ongoing strategy to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen long-haul capabilities, help accommodate growing travel demand, and improve the passenger travel experience.
THAI is scheduled to receive the aircraft on 22 June 2026, with plans to add a total of four Boeing 787-9 aircraft to its fleet within 2026.
Mr. Chai Eamsiri, THAI Chief Executive Officer, said: “The addition of Boeing 787-9 aircraft represents another significant milestone for Thai Airways as we continue to strengthen our fleet with modern, efficient aircraft that meet evolving market demand. By increasing the number of aircraft of the same model, we will enhance fleet commonality, improve operational flexibility, and deploy capacity more effectively across our network. This will enable Thai Airways to better serve high-potential routes, support future growth opportunities, and provide passengers with a more comfortable travel experience.”
The Boeing 787-9 is a wide-body aircraft equipped with advanced technology, long-range capability, and high fuel efficiency. It can reduce fuel consumption by up to approximately 20 percent compared with previous-generation aircraft, supporting THAI’s commitment to sustainable fleet development.
The new THAI’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft will feature a two-class cabin configuration with 30 Business Class seats in a full lie-flat 1-2-1 configuration and 268 Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 configuration. The cabin product are designed to align with THAI’s existing Boeing 787-9 fleet, while introducing further enhancements including upgraded in-flight entertainment systems, with 17.3-inch screens in Business Class and 13.3-inch screens in Economy Class, as well as inflight connectivity to provide passengers with greater convenience throughout their journey.
The addition of the Boeing 787-9 aircraft reflects THAI’s continued commitment to strengthening its fleet, improving service capabilities, and connecting Thailand with key destinations worldwide.
