The company is advancing Thailand’s role from a “manufacturing base” to one of the strategic areas for the battery business while extending Thailand’s proven success model to ASEAN markets under its sustainability-driven philosophy, “Produce to Reduce”—delivering high-quality products while reducing environmental, social, and consumer impact.
65 Years of Long-Term Investment, Growing Alongside Thailand’s Economy
Mr. Hidefumi Fujii, Managing Executive Officer of Panasonic Energy Co., Ltd., stated that Panasonic Energy purses “two-pillar management” driven by In-vehicle and Industrial/Consumer businesses. In 2024, the company recorded total revenue of ¥873.2 billion (approximately THB 178 billion), with 55% derived from the In-Vehicle Business and the remainder from the Industrial&Consumer Business 45%. Mr. Atsushi Anzai, Managing Director of Panasonic Energy (Thailand) Co., Ltd., explained that since establishing operations in Thailand as National Thai Company (NTC) since 1961.the company has achieved numerous milestones—beginning with manganese battery production and later expanding into a wide range of electronic products. In 1996, operations were separated as Matsushita Battery (Thailand) Co., Ltd., followed by the launch of alkaline battery production in 2000 and the renaming to Panasonic Energy (Thailand) Co., Ltd., in 2008.
A significant milestone was reached in 2020 with the launch of Panasonic Energy’s Southeast Asia distribution system, designating Thailand as its regional headquarters. By 2025, the company had cumulatively produced more than 20 billion dry batteries, exporting to over 40 countries worldwide.

In Thailand, annual dry battery demand is estimated at approximately 320 million units2, with Panasonic batteries holding No,1 market share1.
