Central Pattana Joins Forces with UNDP, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and Partners to Launch “Better Futures Project 2026: Futures Near Me” — A Platform to Empower Thai Youth and Drive SDGs into Real Action

Bangkok – Central Pattana Public Company Limited, Thailand’s leading sustainable real estate developer under the vision “Imagining better futures for all,” which integrates its core businesses across shopping centres, office buildings, hotels, and residential developments nationwide, has joined forces with the United Nations Development Programme, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and a network of partners to officially launch the “Better Futures Project 2026: Futures Near Me.”

Now in its fifth year, the project stands as one of Thailand’s most comprehensive youth development programmes on sustainability, covering all regions of the country. It aims to empower youth through a Youth-led Solutions approach—from primary to higher education levels—enabling them to develop ideas, innovations, and campaigns that drive tangible change in consumption, communities, and businesses toward sustainability.

The project is designed as a “Platform of Opportunity” that enables youth to learn, design, experiment, communicate, and translate ideas into real-world action. It is driven by Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) challenges that are closely connected to everyday life, covering the dimensions of Profit, People, and Planet, with a strong emphasis on bridging the “Intention–Action Gap” through experiential learning processes and modern communication tools.

The “Better Futures Project 2026: Futures Near Me” encompasses youth development across all age groups, with activities tailored to each education level as follows:

• Primary Education Level: Learning through creative activities such as arts, performances, projects, and communication

• Lower Secondary Education Level: Development into Clip Creators to communicate social and environmental issues

• Upper Secondary, Vocational, and University Levels: Development of scalable solutions and impactful campaigns that can be applied in business, communities, and environmental contexts

Participants will be equipped with future skills, including analytical thinking, communication, and campaign design, along with opportunities to create nationally recognized work, learn from experts, and expand their networks across public and private sector organizations.

The “Better Futures Project #5: Futures Near Me” is Thailand’s most geographically inclusive SDG youth idea challenge platform, covering all regions of the country. The project is implemented in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Youth Changemakers and Media for Responsible Business programme, with support from the European Union, Central Pattana Public Company Limited, and partner organizations.

The programme is delivered by expert facilitators with specialized experience in youth development, including Change Lab and WeTech Consulting. It aims to create a space for young people to learn, design, test, communicate, and drive real change through the development of prototype solutions, problem-solving ideas, and communication campaigns that promote responsible consumption, business practices that respect human rights, and environmental sustainability.

The project will be implemented through a nationwide roadshow across five regions, followed by a national-level final round, as detailed below:
