Sarinra Wongsuppaluk Clinches Best HR Chief at Women’s Tabloid Awards 2024

The Women’s Tabloid Awards recognizes exceptional leaders and entrepreneurs. Thailand’s Sarinra Wongsuppaluk has just been named Best Chief Human Resources Officer for her exceptional performance in driving the people strategy of True Corporation. Ms. Sarinra is both the first HR chief to be named for the 2024 awards, and the first person in Thailand.

Ms. Wongsuppaluk said, “Being the first Thai leader named by the Women’s Tabloid Awards for 2024 is a great honor for me. As a woman and a Thai, I feel very privileged by this recognition. It shines a spotlight on True Corporation on a global stage. I see it as a testament to what True Corporation’s teams have been able to achieve. The organization has been a leader in human resources for our learning culture and, in the wake of our recent merger, the achievement of bringing together two large organizations together despite very different work cultures, structures, and people.”
Ms. Sarinra’s strong business acumen coupled with her passion were critical to the historic amalgamation of dtac and True. In this transformative journey, Ms. Sarinra demonstrated remarkable foresight and leadership, driving a three-pronged strategy to reshape the organization, build talents and forge a new culture.
To ensure a smooth transition during the complex process of amalgamating disparate teams and systems. Ms. Sarinra fostered an environment where every team member felt valued and treated respectfully, while leveraging this opportunity to modernize, simplify, and automate work processes with the target of achieving 100% automation of repetitive processes by 2027.
The second focus area was to future-proof True Corporation’s workforce. Ms. Sarinra said, “We aim to be an AI-driven organization, setting a goal to develop over 5,000 digital experts by 2025 and to transition 100% of routine work to automation by 2027. The company also upskilled and re-skilled its people to ensure they remain relevant in a rapidly changing landscape, thereby fostering continuous learning, innovation, and adaptability.”
The third focus area was to increase collaboration for digital and agile ways of work. With extensive engagement activities, the HR team built a new culture of proximity to management, customer-centricity, respect, and performance.
Ms. Sarinra best-in-class HR and change management practices are broadly recognized and True continued to reap HR awards in 2023, with seven awards from HR Excellence and three from HR Asia, including awards for digital transformation, excellence in leadership development and HR Leader of the Year.
Sarinra Wongsuppaluk has a distinguished record of leadership positions in global organizations. Her background spans FMCG, banking and telecommunications. Working at Unilever for 17 years, she started as a management trainee and held leadership positions in marketing, sales, and supply chain, with extensive international experience in over 20 countries. She joined True Corporation in 2009 as a True Lifestyle Retail Management before joining human resources in 2012. Over the course of her career, Ms. Sarinra has been particularly focused on expanding opportunities for young talents, playing a critical role in modernizing the CP Group scholarships program and sponsoring Thai delegates for One Young World, the preeminent community of young leaders taking action on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
