Thailand Ranked 14th Global Fruit & Veg Exporter; TUTTOFOOD Milan 2026 Set to Unlock New European Opportunities for Thai Firms

Thai fruit and vegetable products continue to play an increasingly important role in global trade, particularly as demand for high-quality agricultural produce and fresh food grows across Europe. Amid expanding trade opportunities, TUTTOFOOD Milan 2026, an international food exhibition scheduled for 11–14 May 2026 in Milan, Italy, is emerging as a key platform connecting producers and exporters worldwide with global buyer networks.

According to market data from Trade Data Monitor, Thailand ranks as the 14th largest exporter of fruit and vegetables globally and 3rd in Asia, with export volumes exceeding 5 million tons in 2024. The figures highlight Thailand’s strong position as a key player in the global food supply chain and point to further opportunities to expand into new markets—particularly Europe, where demand for agricultural products continues to grow.

In particular, European consumer trends are increasingly shifting toward processed fruit, frozen fruit and ready-to-eat products, in line with rising demand for healthier and more convenient food options. This development presents a significant opportunity for Thai producers to capitalize on the country’s strengths in high-quality tropical fruits while developing value-added agricultural products and expanding into new high-potential export markets.

As global demand for fruit and vegetable products continues to rise, TUTTOFOOD Milan 2026, recognized as one of the most important food business platforms in Southern Europe, will expand the TUTTO Fruit & Veg zone in Pavilion 4 by 30%. The expansion is designed to accommodate growing demand from international exhibitors and buyers and to reinforce the event’s role as a “one-stop shop” platform for the global agri-food community.

The zone aims to create a comprehensive business environment that connects producers, distributors and buyers seeking new product opportunities within a single platform. It will cater to multiple industry segments including private label, foodservice and catering, as well as bar and café businesses.

Exhibitors will include companies from various countries alongside international trade promotion organizations from Egypt, Chile and Mexico, as well as leading industry players such as Kiwi Passion, Zerbinati and La Linea Verde. A wide range of products will be showcased, from fresh fruits and vegetables, exotic fruits and berries, and processed products to ready-to-eat fresh-cut produce, dried fruit, organic products and frozen vegetables.

Another highlight is the Italian Fruit Village, which will feature fruit and vegetable products from different regions of Italy, with particular emphasis on products certified under Geographical Indications (GI)—a key mechanism for enhancing the value and competitiveness of agricultural products in global markets.

The zone will also include a Business Lounge designed for professional buyers and procurement managers specializing in fresh produce from markets such as France, Spain and Poland, as well as South America and the Middle East—regions where demand for imported high-value agricultural and food products from Asia continues to grow.

Antonio Cellie
, Chief Executive Officer of Fiere di Parma, the organizer of TUTTOFOOD, said:

“Bringing together all stakeholders in the fruit and vegetable sector at TUTTOFOOD 2026 represents the strength of a production ecosystem that is evolving rapidly across Europe, both in terms of production models and consumer behaviour. These dynamics are at the core of TUTTOFOOD’s growth as one of the most important food trade exhibitions in Southern Europe. By fostering cross-industry connections and international networking, the event opens new opportunities for food industry players worldwide, particularly from high-potential regions such as Asia.”

With the participation of global buyers, distributors and food industry experts, TUTTOFOOD Milan 2026 is expected to serve as a key gateway for Thai food producers and agricultural exporters seeking to unlock new trade opportunities and expand their presence in international markets.
