Bangkok, October 4, 2023 – Autodesk hosted the Autodesk Converge 2023 in Thailand today at the Millennium Hilton Hotel. The event brought together leaders from the architecture, construction, design, engineering, and manufacturing sectors. Over 250 attendees gathered to explore the latest in technologies and trends that are set to influence industrial growth and trajectory.
Autodesk also showcased its newest technologies, including Applications of Building Information Modeling (BIM), Autodesk AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction), and Autodesk Construction Cloud solutions. Moreover, it includes the presentation of success stories and the announcement of the winners of the Autodesk ASEAN Innovation Awards 2023.
The event kicked off with an opening speech and a
special lecture by Dr Supoj Thienawut, Director of the Digital Government
Development Agency (Public Organization), Thailand. This was followed by a
speech by Serene Sia, Managing Director, Southeast Asia, Autodesk ASEAN, who
addressed the audience on the topic of ‘State of Design and Make’.
Sia expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “Autodesk is delighted to host Autodesk Converge 2023 in Thailand for the first time. The event's theme is 'Design and Make a Better World', and through this, we aim to share and showcase our knowledge and innovation. We also strive to play our part in contributing to the development of the ASEAN Economic Community.”
The conference also featured renowned experts from various industries, who shared insights into the latest technological innovation, what is new in project management, and key learnings from success stories. Key highlights include "Digital Transformation in the Age of Design and Make for AEC" by Marek Suchocki Head of Industry Associations Strategy and "D&M – Disruption Creates Opportunity" by Sharon Tiu, Market Development Lead APAC D&M Industry at Autodesk ASEAN.
Additionally, there were industry specific sessions
that focused on discussions on technological advancements and applications
centered around project requirements. Several specialist companies from
Thailand, such as Construction Products and Materials Co., Ltd. (CPAC),
Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd., Magnolia Quality Development
Corporation Limited (MQDC), HiveGround Co.,Ltd. , E-Tran (Thailand) Co., Ltd.,
and Babcock Power (Thailand) Co., Ltd, participated in this. Participants especially
benefited from the high level of engagement.
Furthermore, winners of the Autodesk ASEAN Innovation
Awards 2023, an annual competition that celebrates exceptional expertise in the
application of Autodesk's innovative technologies, were announced.
Sia said, “We invite you to join us in congratulating
the winners of the Autodesk ASEAN Innovation Awards 2023, who are being
recognized for their outstanding achievements across the architecture,
engineering, construction, and manufacturing sectors. This year, we received a
record-breaking 153 submissions from more than 50 companies from across the
region, including numerous Thailand based firms.”
Winners were especially commended for their innovative
application and use of Building Information Modeling (BIM), Autodesk AEC
(Architecture, Engineering, and Construction), and Autodesk Construction Cloud
solutions. The award categories were Innovator of The Year Award, Cloud
Advocate of The Year Award, Better World Builder of The Year Award, and Future
Pillar of The Year Award.
